Welcome to the inaugural edition of our fresh-pressed weekly column, ShopScoop: Your weekly DTC trend tracker.

If you’re here reading, you’re either in e-comm and looking for your next big product, sitting with a birds-eye view and wondering who is making waves and with what products, or you’re just as data/trend-obsessed as we are. No matter what your deal is we’re excited to have you join us for the ride. Each week we’ll be breaking down the top charts on Next Big Shop and letting you in on who is selling what on Shopify, and why we think that is!

Here’s what we learned this week:

(TL;DR: wellness trumps beauty, clean and sustainable sells, and we’re snuggling up for the season.)

Fall is IN THE AIR/Closet

While I imagine literally zero people are too surprised by this particular revelation, given Starbucks’ relentless attempts at making pumpkin-spiced latte fetch and the Christmas trees that are already going up at Macy's - we’ve seen the season manifest in the closet on the DTC 200.

Most noticeable is the sudden resurgence in comfy-chic attire, like Alo Yoga’s fall-appropriate Accolade Hoodie for men which is blowing up (especially in Espresso, yum), not to mention their Faux Leather Puffer in pretty much every colorway, so we can all stay warm but look good doing it.

Vuori’s Long Sleeve Lux Crew paired with the Performance Jogger is a slam-dunk for the season. For the boys, we’re thinking the Kore Jogger is going to be everywhere as we prep for a long winter ahead. And I doubt you’ll find a gentleman without a Todd Snyder peacoat on his back as the temp starts to drop down (unlike their sales numbers).

Don’t forget to make the bed!

Speaking of getting comfy, quite a few bedding brands are popping up on the chart.

Miracle Brand is making sheet sets fit for an astronaut using NASA-inspired technology. Skeptical of their silver-infused fabrics? It’s said to prevent bacterial growth which means less laundry (yay for the environment) and no more musty towels. That feels like a win.

Brooklinen’s Hardcore bundles are flying off the shelves, both in their Classic fabric and Luxe Sateen. It seems like these brands are aware that fall is a good time to upgrade your sleep sitch, because we’re seeing enticing discounts across the board.

Another hot player in the sheet space is eco-friendly Boll & Branch and while they sit at a higher price point, there is more than one reason to appreciate their approach. Priding themselves on a transparent supply chain, Boll & Branch uses only all-natural materials to create their Signature Sheet set.

I also greatly appreciate that their starter bundle includes a duvet cover, as opposed to this being an add-on - don’t get me started on the whole duvet v. comforter/top sheet debacle.

Wellness for the Win

Staying strong at the top of the charts is clean beauty brand Dime

Fun fact, this brand uses only vetted ingredients, so no need to worry about toxins, health, and environmental concerns. We’re loving Dime Beauty fragrances across the board right now, but The Complete System, which includes a cleanser, toner, night and day cream, two serums, and SPF, is one of their most popular product bundles.

Who doesn’t love a good (clean) routine?

Heard of BOKA yet? A toothpaste made from stuff that won’t kill you but makes your teeth stronger (and whiter if you so choose). Making toothpaste with the mineral Nano-hydroxyapatite was dreamed up by NASA (wait, is Space Tech a trend now?) and is proven to be naturally restorative for your teeth and enamel. The n-Ha 3-pack is the most popular product at the moment, and you can mix and match flavors like Lemon Lavender and Coco Ginger in addition to your standard minty fresh vibe. I wonder which one the astronauts prefer?

And these brands aren’t alone. In fact, clean wellness and beauty can be found up and down the DTC 200 from Image Skincare (clinically tested) to OSEA (seaweed-infused skincare), to Juice Beauty (cruelty-free and vegan) and MERIT (make-up that’s safe for the body, skin, and planet).

You are not alone!

Beyond beauty and wellness, we are seeing a significant shift toward thoughtful consumerism and brand alignment across pretty much all verticals we are tracking at Next Big Shop. Consumers want to use products and represent brands that are seen as innovative, sustainable, and good for the body, soul, and world around us. This means more transparent supply chains, natural and clean materials, and clear values.

Shoppers are making better choices, and the DTC eco-system is here for it.
